H.264 video and AAC audio is preferred, but we can transcode from many formats. 16:9 aspect ratio is preferred since the Steam client is optimized for widescreen, but 4:3 aspect ratio is accepted. Please note that audio will be filtered down to regular stereo when we transcode the videos. Advanced Settings: Base Video & Language - The "Base Video" setting groups multiple trailer videos together, enabling the store to choose only one of the videos depending on the user's configured language. For example, if you have an English, Spanish & German version of the same trailer, set the "Base Video" for the English trailer to nothing (empty) and the other two language's "Base Video" setting to the name of your English trailer. Countries - only needs to be set if you desire to restrict visibility of your trailer to only some countries. This may be desirable if you have PEGI and ESRB rated videos that should each only appear in certain countries. Use official ISO listings. (Example: "DE,FR,US,CA,MX") Tips: Your first video should get to gameplay or action as quickly as possible. Slow, dramatic introductions might be appropriate for a cinematic trailer on YouTube, but for someone that is in shopping mode, it's much more useful to quickly see what the game is like to play.
