Agreeing to these Terms

These Terms apply when you use GameDB.ai (“GameDB”, “we”, “us”), with or without an account. By using the site you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy; if you don’t agree, please don’t use GameDB. If you use GameDB for a company, for example to claim a studio’s game, you confirm you may accept these Terms for it.

What GameDB is

GameDB is an independent database of Steam games that disclose the use of AI. It isn’t affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Valve or Steam. Steam and the Steam logo are trademarks of Valve Corporation. Game names, art and trailers belong to their owners; we show them to identify each game and link to its store page.

Our data and its limits

• Game data comes from public Steam store pages and refreshes automatically several times a day. It can be late, incomplete or wrong.
• AI labels are read from each game’s Steam disclosure, or from its developer’s own statement. They describe what was disclosed, not everything a team may have done.
• Revenue and wishlists are our estimates, marked “est.”, and the site explains how they’re worked out. They aren’t figures from Steam or from the developer.
• Rankings follow the rules we publish, and those rules may change as we improve them.

GameDB is for information. Don’t rely on it alone for financial, investment or legal decisions. We may correct, change or remove any listing.

Your account

• You sign in with Steam or with a code sent to your email. Keep that account and inbox secure: you’re responsible for what happens under your GameDB account.
• One account per person, with accurate details. You need to be at least 13, or older where the law of your country requires it.
• You can delete your account at any time in your account settings.
• We may suspend or delete accounts that break these Terms or harm GameDB or its users.

Stars

Stars show what real people like, and they count toward Community picks. Don’t inflate them with extra accounts, bots, trades or payments. We may remove stars we believe aren’t genuine.

Claiming a game

Claim a game only if you work on it, as its developer, its publisher or a member of its team, and may speak for it. We check claims by email domain or by hand, and we may reject or remove a claim at any time. A Verified badge means we confirmed that the person who claimed the game is on its team; it isn’t an endorsement of the game. A false claim gets the account suspended.

What you post

What you submit stays yours: your game page’s story, AI note, facts and timeline, claim statements and messages. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, show, copy, adapt for layout and share it on GameDB and when we promote GameDB or your game, for example on share cards and social posts. The license lasts while it’s on GameDB, and for a short time afterwards in backups and caches.

You promise that what you submit is accurate, that you have the right to share it, and that it’s legal: nothing infringing, misleading, hateful, sexual or malicious, and no one else’s private information. We may edit it for format, or remove it.

Using GameDB fairly

Please don’t:

• copy GameDB’s data in bulk, scrape the site, or use automated tools that load it faster than a person would (search engines that follow robots.txt are welcome);
• try to get around request limits, security or access controls, or probe, attack or overload the site;
• use GameDB’s data to build a competing database, or sell it;
• pretend to be someone else, or send spam through the contact form or claims;
• break the law or anyone’s rights.

Badges, share cards and links

Developers and fans may post and embed GameDB badges, share cards and links to promote a game, as long as they aren’t changed to mislead. Any other use of the GameDB name or logo needs our permission.

Our content

The site’s design, text, rankings, estimates and AI labels, and the way we put the data together, belong to GameDB or to those who license them to us. You may quote small parts with a link to GameDB.ai as the source.

Corrections and takedowns

If something about your game is wrong, claim it or contact us. If you believe something on GameDB infringes your copyright or other rights, email hello@gamedb.ai with what the work is, where it appears on GameDB, how to reach you, and a statement that you own the rights or may act for the owner. We’ll review it and remove what shouldn’t be there.

Other sites

GameDB links to Steam, developers’ websites and social profiles. We aren’t responsible for them. Signing in with Steam is also subject to Steam’s own terms.

Disclaimers and liability

GameDB is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about the site or its data, including that it’s accurate, complete, always available or fit for a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, that come from using GameDB, and our total liability for any claim about GameDB is limited to 50 US dollars. If someone makes a claim against us because of what you submitted or because you broke these Terms, you’ll cover our reasonable costs.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited, or your rights as a consumer.

Changes and ending

We may change or stop parts of GameDB, and update these Terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters, we’ll say so on the site before it takes effect, and using GameDB after that means you accept it.

You may stop using GameDB at any time, and we may end your access if you break these Terms. The parts that should last beyond that, such as the disclaimers and limits of liability, still apply.
