Web games rank by growth in plays: plays over the last 24 hours against the daily average of the week before, weighed against the audience a game already has, so small games can climb. A game in its first three days has no week to compare with, so its launch counts as +50% at most. Verified games count every opening with the GameDB snippet on their own site and get 50 points on top of their growth; the rest count openings from GameDB. A game that goes offline leaves the chart until it’s back.

How the numbers work
Counted where people play
A Verified game runs the GameDB snippet on its own site, so every play counts, wherever the player came from, and you see who’s playing right now. The numbers come from real visits, not from a form the developer filled in.
Openings, not reloads
A play is an opening of a game, and one person counts once every 15 minutes at most, so reloads don’t add up. The snippet counts every opening of the game’s page; games without it count the openings from GameDB. Bots and data centers don’t count.
Online, or off the chart
We check every game around the clock. After 18 hours without an answer it leaves the charts and its developer gets an email. It’s back as soon as it answers.
